WOW What a weekend!

Be sure to check the photos on Embellished's Facebook page. We got a ton of them from our weekend in Edmonton at the retailer's convention - including TIM HOLTZ!

It was an amazing weekend - lots of new products, lots of new paper lines from old favourite companies, great classes and ideas, tons of inspiration from all the instructors and companies via class and make and take projects.

Now - for the moment you have all been waiting for.....TIM HOLTZ! What an amazing guy. Seriously witty and one of the most inspirational teachers I have had. As most of you know, I never really got into his products. They intimidated me. I have used a bit of grunge board here and there - but simply painted.

OMG the 2 classes that we took had me down and dirty with Tim. I learned alcohol inks (both colour and metalic), the new paint daubbers (both regular colours and the metalics), grunge, used his dies, distressed inks, the ink tool, stamping (and his new stamps!), resist, his new distressed stains and the list goes on. When we left the classes we were inked, happy and inspired. I can not believe how much we learned in those 2 classes. AMAZING! Thank you Tim! I may have just converted to use a bit more of this and challenge myself to step outside of my comfort zone :)

More kit inspiration!

Hey everyone! It looks like spring may actually come this year! I can't wait! There's still a chill in the air, but the temperatures are on the plus side!
So let me show you what else I made with the kit!
This one here of my daughter is a pretty simple one. I cut out a large heart, and stamped on it with some of Tim's number stamps. I cut out the title by hand from the same pink cardstock. Some of the rick rac alond the bottom and top left. I love the white space left. I threaded some of the tulle through buttons. Everything is kit, except the letter stickers, stamp, and buttons. :)
Another one of my boyfriend and I, lol, could you guess? I love that dotted pattern paper, my favourite of the kit! You can't tell in the picture, but I punched out the circles of the paper, and pop dotted them up. Everything is the kit but the stickers for the title.
And here's my card. I cut out a square, stamped "smile" on it, embossed it with black. More tulle threaded through a button, and then on the pink background. A quick and easy card, my favourite! :)

Hey everyone, are you excited and inspired by the latest kit?

Ready to see what I did with it?

I love Kari's instinct for colours and patterns. She has such a knack for putting together papers and embellishments, don't you think? First up is a picture of my daughter. I stamped and embossed with white powder circles. Punched out some circles from the die-cut folder paper that I loved, sewed down a strip of the cool orange paper on the side as well as sewed down the letter stickers of my title, cut out a flourish-y type of base from the patterned paper I used under the photo, added some rick rack, and finished with some maya road acrylic flowers and brads. All is the kit except the buttons, stamps, flowers, title stickers, and brads... they were from my stash.

Up next is a simple one of me and my boyfriend. Inked the edges of the patterned paper, cut out squares with my pinking shears to give a postage stamp look to the patterened paper, painted the hearts black, stamped some orange circles on the white background, added some ribbon and buttons. All is the kit except the stamps, title stickers, paint, and buttons.
I'll have more to show you later this week! Don't want to overwhelm you all at once! :)

hey everyone...glad to see the weather is gonna be better today!!!! ...how is everyone doing??? I think this week is going slow do far...just because i need a little holiday . We are off to convention this week..that's rite , off to see T!m!!! im so excited!

Your Job...love or hate it?

I definitely LOVE LOVE LOVE both of my jobs!!...First as a massage therapist, I love that i am able to help people feel better. I love the social aspect too...i must say that i have the BEST clients in the world!!!!

Also i love working in the store, It allows me to be open and creative. Also i do believe that we have the best client and customers in the world.

Some Thank You and Congratulations cards

My sister asked me to make up some cards she could send out as Thank Yous after N was born. I took some closeup photos of his hands/feet, had a bunch printed and badda boom badda bing they were done. Easy peasy.

Kit inspiration from tammy...

So the Feb kit was alot of fun, different from many of the kits that we have had before..... If you remember the kits we had a year ago they were usually all the same paper line with cardstock to match... we this year you are gonna find the kits a little different, they will be mixed paper lines, showing you how u can mix companies together and still make fantastic layouts!!!! they are a little more challenging and will help you think out side the box....

With this card, I did something a little different...i did all double inking, 2 colours..very cute technique!!!

I love this layout of K and her hand made sock money from grandma O...this layout has a new idea for making paper flowers....drop by the store and we can show ya how!!!

To quote my Hubby!!!..... " no one ever remembers a normal picture!!!"

And last but not least!!! This layout says alot!!! My oldest DD deals with Anxiety , ADD, and is hearing impaired on one side...that's alot for a child to carry!!!

You will find this year that i will be scrapping more of raw emotion that goes on in my life. we all scrap the pretty stuff, and the fun events....this year will be different.

This layout is therapy for Az... she now wants the pic so she can scrap about her special needs and put it in her book.
